1. Create Launches Business Partnerships to Add to 3 Day School Games Funding

Create Development has launched its Business Partnerships programme for School Sports Partnerships*.  The programme aims to ensure that schools continue to receive high quality Professional Development in 2011/12 and beyond by offering to fund partnerships for the local management and organisation of CPD.  This funding is likely to be between £6000 and £20,000 depending on the size of the partnership and the scale of the proposed delivery.

Speaking at the Sports Colleges Conference, Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport announced that 450 3 day a week positions would be funded to implement and manage the new School Games.  He said he expects and hopes that Partnership Development Managers would apply for and carry out these roles. He also went on to encourage the use of local funding and programmes to extend this into a full-time role, in order to build on the existing work of School Sport Partnerships.
