  4. Create Support the Manchester ‘Movement’

PE and Sport across Manchester is moving forwards with the support of Create Development.  Manchester City Council is working with Create to integrate the ‘FUNS for everyone’ and ‘Raising the Bar’ training into the Key Stages 1, 2 and 3 curriculums and extra-curricular activities across all schools in Manchester.

Create consultants will be training and supporting Primary Link Teachers, School Sports Coordinators and Sports Development Coaches over the coming months to prepare them to deliver the training to colleagues before filtering it into teaching and coaching.  It is a large and dynamic project, with each School Sports Partnership being responsible for drawing up its own action plan, timeline and targets.  The versatility of ‘FUNS for everyone’ and ‘Raising the Bar’ will allow Partnerships to tailor the training to their own needs.  Immediate impact studies as well as long term studies will be carried out by each Partnership.

  5. Create Help Inspire England Athletics’ New 365 Programme

The England Athletics’ 365 Programme has now been launched following a successful partnership with Create Development.  The Athletics 365 Programme is designed to support Club Coaches across the country and, appreciating the structure and ethos of Create’s ‘FUNS for everyone’, ‘Raising the Bar’ and ‘ACCELERATING Abilities’ programmes, England Athletics have used similar concepts to underpin their very own 365 Programme.  Create are delighted to have supported England Athletics in the development of the Physical Conditioning, Lifestyle & Support and Psycho Behavioural sections of the Athletics 365 curriculum and to be involved in such an exciting development in the sport.

In keeping with Create’s philosophy, the Athletics 365 Programme also highlights the importance of clear, shared journeys with progressive, sequential steps in accelerating learning.  The multi-event and multi-ability nature of the Programme aims to produce well-rounded athletes who are also mentally, emotionally and socially developed.  The Programme is supported by 2 resources, the Athlete’s Record of Achievement and the Coach’s Support Pack, which reflect many aspects of Create’s resources and highlight progressive statements of development.
