Well done to Langley Academy Primary who have been graded by Ofsted as Outstanding with the PE and Sport Premium funding and PE noted as strong areas. Year 1 teacher, Rob Geer, explains how real PE and the PE and Sport Premium and Health Wheel have supported him and the school.
“I was given the job of Head of PE at the beginning of the academic year 17/18. I was told about the real PE training and scheme and I immediately signed up for it.
During the first session, we were introduced to the PE and Sport Premium and Health Wheel to try and show how we were using the PE and Sport funding and the opportunities we were giving the children. The Wheel enabled me to focus on the different areas I needed to focus on. It also meant I was able to see where the funding needed to be spent, and how it was best to spend the PE and Sport Premium money. I was able to use the Wheel to upload evidence and talk about the impact the PE and Sport Premium was having on the children in our school. We had our Ofsted inspection at the end of that academic year and I was able to go into the meeting about PE and Sport Premium with confidence and using the Wheel to back up the claims I was making, and to give me clear foci on what I needed to talk about.
We were graded Outstanding in all areas, with the PE and Sport Premium funding and PE noted as a strong area for us.”
