Physical Literacy for All

It is essential that disabled pupils have the Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) to maximise their physical potential and confidence in PE and Sport. Without developing these skills at an early age, children’s future relationship with physical activity and sport will be adversely affected.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course:

  • All delegates will be able to explain what FMS are and why they are essential for disabled pupils.
  • All delegates will be able to use the ‘FUNS for everyone’ resources.
  • Most delegates will be able to apply the ‘FUNS for everyone’ philosophy to better include, challenge and support all pupils in P.E. and Sport.
  • Some delegates will be ready to deliver ‘FUNS for everyone’ using a range of delivery methods.

Course Overview

This fun and practical course is a specialised version of ‘FUNS for everyone’. It covers the progressive ‘FUNS for everyone’ activities while focusing on those pupils with higher levels of impairment and challenges. It shares the successes that schools have had in delivering ‘FUNS for everyone’ in a variety of special and mainstream settings. The course can be tailored to address individual needs such as autism, learning difficulties and specific physical difficulties.
